My Little Giraffe
I bought the giraffe teapot and cup and saucer for my baby grandson with a message for him when he grows up: “While all the people around you were buying you plastic and tin toys, your grandmother bought you a Franz Giraffe. Perhaps they don’t carry this line anymore. But that is me loving you little giraffe. In the quiet of your reflective moments in your adult life, when you can appreciate the value of the gift, enjoy a cup of coco, or a cup of milk, or a lovely cup of Chinese green tea, the best that you can buy that will compliment this exquisite work of art bought just for you out of all the love in my heart for you eternally.”
I hope the above expresses the value I place on the Franz art
and quality. When I look at the pieces, I feel the spirit of
freedom of the soul expressing itself through the artistry.
If possible please convey my sincerest regards to Francis
Chen. I find it ironic, but in the mid ‘90s I had met my friend
Ellen Hurlburt who had started a Clay work studio called
Hermit Studio. She is known for the Hobgoblins and Trolls
she created. Ellen enjoyed playing with the three dimensional
pieces she made. I had asked Ellen to make me a dinner set
with three dimensional figures. Ellen became too busy to
create the set, and I thought I would make them for myself
instead. I never got around to it. You can only imagine my
delight when I discovered Franz!
