Flowers of Van Gogh in Indonesia
The big ‘FRANZ’ signboard displayed on the façade of Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta, attracts the attention of locals and tourists, making them stop to take a closer look.
In mid-May of 2013, Medici, Franz’s Indonesian agent, hosted an ‘appreciation’ gathering titled Flowers of Van Gogh at La Moda Café of Plaza Indonesia, an upscale shopping center in Jakarta.
In a joint collaboration with local fashion magazine - Indonesia Tatler, the agent invited many guests of honor, as well as the wives of the ambassadors from Europe and the Middle East to join this elegant ‘appreciation’ event.
During the session, Ardi Joanda, President of Medici, shared his point of view on Franz’s exquisite porcelain artistry. Local art critic Deborah Iskandar also graced the event to share the life of Van Gogh and the master’s creations.
Franz Chen, CEO of Franz, also traveled to Indonesia to join this great event, where he gave a full account of the brand’s joint effort with the Dutch Vincent Van Gogh Museum in creating such an array of refined porcelain themed on Van Gogh’s creations.
He revealed that through the interpretation of the master′s paintings, or secondary design, Franz has succeeded in giving the featured porcelain pieces a new meaning and a second life.
Medici also invited floral designers to create an appealing decoration called ‘Flowers of Van Gogh’ at the Franz Gallery in Plaza Indonesia, where a collection of Van Gogh-themed porcelain pieces were showcased among the beautiful blossoms.
Just as the master shows his passion for life and nature through his paintings of unparalleled vision and beauty, Franz uses nature as its design inspirations, endeavoring to demonstrate the pleasing harmony between man and nature through porcelain.
