The Dance of Butterflies and Flowers
Butterfly Exhibition in Stockholm
The Butterfly exhibition was held at the Butterfly House in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, between June 27 and July 1, 2009. Butterfly photos and our Franz Butterfly series were showcased at the exhibition.
During the exhibition period, the Nordic country of Sweden was warm and comfortable. The Butterfly House (fjärilshuset in Hagaparken, Stockholm), where the event was held, was previously the private garden of the Swedish royal family.
This natural park in the urban area of Sweden is now open to the public, and because it is a rarely seen treasure, it welcomes many visitors during weekends and holidays.
The Franz Butterfly Porcelain line, displayed in the exhibition at the Scandinavian Peninsula, showcased the romantic interaction between butterflies and flowers, the luxurious butterfly wings and the soft dance of the butterflies.
This vivid presentation of the glorious life of butterflies through porcelain arts, has triggered enthusiastic discussions amidst the local visitors.
The butterfly photos and butterfly inspired porcelain sculptures complimented each other exquisitely at this exhibition.
A poem reads that “Every butterfly comes from the soul of a flower.” Their wings flutter like ribbons, their body as light as flower petals…and they float through the flowers as effortlessly as a couple in love, as if they were having a love affair with the flowers.
In order to show the delicate texture of butterfly wings, Franz designers observed the dancing moves of butterflies in person so that they could bring the delicate butterfly wings alive in the exquisite artwork of these Franz porcelain.
