Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts
United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization
In 2012, Franz submitted artworks to the UNESCO Seal program for the first time. Its three porcelain pieces, the Rainbow Ginger Jar, the Dragon Ginger Jar and the Baby Circus Figurine, were honored to be awarded The Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts.
The objective of the Seal is to encourage artisans to produce handicrafts using traditional skills, patterns and themes in an innovative way, in order to ensure the continuity and sustainability of these traditions and skills.
With the establishment of the Seal program, many excellent traditional handicrafts have been created throughout the world.
Franz has been awarded The Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts every year since 2007 for the following collections: Island Beauty - Hibiscus Flower Collection,
Rain Forest Little Dwellers Collection, Lotus Harmony Collection, and Peace & Harmony - Bamboo Collection.
This fact proves Franz has done an excellent job in passing on traditional porcelain artistry. This year, Franz was duly praised by the jury once again, for submitting eyecatching porcelain works featuring a riot of colors.
The dragon and human figurines sculpted on the pieces vividly reflect the imaginative wonderland, magnificent garden.
