PORCELAIN ARTISTRY
Miraculous Transformation from Chrysalis to Butterfly
The porcelain culture has shaped the civilization and lifestyle of mankind, as demonstrated by Franz’s efforts to start a new wave of fashion and lifestyle aesthetics through the blend of ancient and modern, Eastern and Western aesthetics.
Collected porcelain pieces from all countries and various periods can be evaluated based on their shapes, colors and texture. Compared to all the Chinese porcelain from past dynasties, Franz has managed to dismiss old constraints, successfully combining technologies with cultures and art to usher in a new era, as a chrysalis morphing into a butterfly. Franz uses the best material in its creations, but has made a breakthrough and transcended traditional porcelain artistry in terms of “shapes, colors and texture,” thus becoming a legend in its own right.
A String of Happy Events
A String of Happy Events – Magpies Vase was created by the designer/sculptor Peter Chao, who meticulously arranged the layout of the drawing and hand carved the three-dimensional birds, paying particular attention to demonstrate the interaction between the four magpies, letting them make eye contact for the exchange of affection.
The four magpies are carefully arranged by Peter Chao, ingeniously situated around the body of the vase as if each has just flown from
north, south,east and west.
Chao painstakingly sculpted the birds’ bodies, wings, feathers, and beaks with sculpting knives to show their slight differences despite their close resemblance.
